FREE MILK

SMITH FAMILY'S WORK

For the past two years the Smith Family collectors have made a house-to-house canvass for funds for the supply of free milk to schools, and although the Government has taken over the scheme the canvass, will be continued, commencing on Monday, to secure funds to supply milk to necessitous cases not reached by the Government scheme. Supplies will be provided for under-nourished children not of school age, old age pensioners in need of additional nourishment, and children who are absent from school because of sickness. The Family considers that under-nournished children unable to secure the issue at school because of sickness should not suffer a break in their supply, and special arrangements are being made to enable the Family to be advised when milk is required at a child's home.
