Prosecutions under the dry Council bylaws were dealt with by Mr. W. I-1 Stilwell, S.M., in the Magistrates Court today. Mr. A. R. Cox, James Francis Delaney, Neville John Fawcett, Olive Geddes Bernard Gibson, John Graham, Joseph Heineman, Alan Herman, Eric Hogg, Joseph Horton, Kenneth Hunt, Ernest Josling, Eric Edmund Lash, Nathan Martin, Cecil Morrish, Lloyd Moult John William Neale, Leo O'Brien. Arthur Rigg, Gerald Rosenbaum, John Stuart, Herbert Thornlev, William Toogood, Robert Turner, William Webb, Clarence Willis, Frederick Williamson, and Herbert Wilson. Herbert Godfrey was convicted and discharged. For failing to give way to righthand traffic. George Hamilton was fined 10s and costs. , Exceeding 30 miles an hour in Riddiford Street. cost Gerald Philip 20s and costs. Charles Baker, for. failing to have a warning device, was fined 10s and costs.

Failing to have a tail-light on a motor-cycle cost Leslie Booker 10s and costs, and for a similar breach Stuart McDonald was convicted and ordered to pay costs. . Ronald George Bush and George Hamilton, for failing to renew their drivers' licences, were fined 10s and costs.

Riding a motor-cycle at 40 miles an hour in a 30 miles an hour limit area cost Harry Cavell 20s and costs. William Joseph Simpson pleaded not guilty to driving without due care and attention in Victoria Street, but was convicted and. ordered to pay costs. Allowing stock to wander cost Cyril Woods 10s and costs. For permitting cattle to go on unfenced land, Benjamin Martelli was fined 10s and costs.
