PRESENTATIONS AT LOWER HUTT

The first'meeting of the Lower Hutt Nursing- Division for ; . the year 1937 was held on Monday last in. the:, Wesley' Hall. Arrangements were'rriade'to hold a Home Nursing Class early in the year in order that several probationary members may qualify for full membership.

Two members of the division, Misses G. Stiles and E. Jones, were seconded for cadet work in the capacity of lady cadet superintendent, and lady cadet officer respectively. Gratification was expressed in, the fact . that some 30 juniors had shown sufficient interest in ambulance work to enable a Lower Hutt Cadet Nursing Division to be formed. ..',.■

Congratulations were offered to members of the various teams on their success in the recent competitions. The Willowbank Cup was presented to the team t comprising Misses M.'Hoare, G. Middleton, I. Ashforth, and G. Stiles, who will hold it for one year. The Rhodes Rose Bowl was handed to a team comprising Misses M. Hoare, M. Roy, G. Stiles, and Mrs. Fuller, who will hold it for six months before it is received by the Wellington South Nursing Division, who gained equal honours in the competition. In the Taurima Cup, teams comprising Misses Hoare, Middleton, Ashforth, and Stiles, and Misses McFarlane, Harland, Roy, and Mrs. Fuller gained equal honours with the Y.W.C.A. Nursing Division, and will hold the cup for six months. The Izard Shield was won by a team comprising Misses Hoare, Roy, Stiles, and Mrs. Fuller. Arrangements wera made for the insurance of these trophies. . ■ ' ,

Ambulance Sister C. Lowe was appointed divisional storekeeper, and Miss M. Frethey divisional .reporter.

Arrangements were made for the annual meeting next month.
