With Manawatu 72 runs ahead of Wairarapa in the first innings the Hawke Cup match was resumed in fine but very breezy weather on Saturday, Manawatu (holders) occupied the crease for most of the day, knocking up 395 for the loss of nine wickets, declared, against steady bowling and keen fielding. jt Features of the day were the magnificent innings of Moloney, who scored 184 in 213 minutes, and that of Cutler, who made 76, the pair adding 158 for the third wicket. At stumps Wairarapa had lost one wicket for 3 runs. Bowling for Wairarapa F. Pool took two wickets for 12 runs, Hill two for 58, Brice two for 95, and Massey two for 108.
