The Bank of New South Wales has received the following cable message from London, dated January 22:—London wool sales market irregular. Greasy merinos and crossbreds slightly easier, particularly slightly inferior wools. Scoured merinos steady; crossbreds and slipes very firm. Average or estimated prices of New Zealand greasy fleece ordinary topmaking wools: Merino, 60/64, Is 5d a lb; fine halfbred, 56/58, Is 6Jd; halfbred, 50/56, Is 5J.d; three-quarterbred, 48/50, Is 4d; fine crossbred, 46/48, Is 3|d; medium, 44 '46, Is 3Jd; crossbred, 40/44, Is 3Jd. Mutton.—Ewes, 3Jd to 4 l-8d a lb; wethers, 4d to 5Jd; lamb, 7 l-8d to 7 5-8 d: beef, 24d to 4d; pork, 6 7-8 dto 7 I-Bd. Butter.—93s a cwt. Cheese: White. 535; coloured, 535. RAW MATERIALS. Friday's closing prices for the following raw materials were as follows, those for January 15 being shown in parentheses:— Cotton: Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 7.16 d a lb (7.20 d); February delivery, 6.92 d a lb (6.93 d). Rubber: Para. 14d a lb (same); plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 10 l-8d a lb (10 15-16 d). Jute: January-February shipment. Indian jute. Dundee quotation, £18 6s 3d a ton (£lB 12s 6d). Copra: February-March shipment, South Sea to London or Rotterdam, £21 a ton (£23 ss); smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa, £20 15s a ton (£23); plantation Rabau. to London or Rotterdam, £21 15s a ton (£24 2s 6d). I.inseed oil, £29 5s a ton (£3O). Turpentine, 42s 9d a cwt (445).
