MR. JOHN E. KENNEBECK

Paramount Pictures has received advice from Sydney of the death of Mr. John E. Kennebeck, managing director of the organisation for Australia, New Zealand, and the Far East. Mr. Kennebeck was taken ill recently with appendicitis, entered hospital, and died after an operation. Young, extremely active and personally popular, Mr. Kennebeck, who was appointed to his present post about three years ago,

was highly regarded by all members of the organisation which he headed and his death has been a severe blow. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and was formerly a newspaperman, but entered the film business and came to New Zealand and Australia, rising rapidly in his new field of work. After having been appointed managing director; he visited this Dominion and a year later went to the United States. He leaves a widow and two young children, a son and daughter.
