EXHIBITORS CONFER The eleventh annual conference ol the New Zealand Motion Picture Exhibitors' Association was held at th» Wellington Commercial Travellers' Club rooms on Thursday. The gathering was fully representative o ( f the industry. The president, Mr. W. Burton, was in the chair. Matters occupying the attention of , the conference were past and future , legislation for the protection and con- ■ trol of the industry, theatre licensing, and labour conditions within the in- : dustry. The election of officers for the com" ing year resulted as follows: —President, Mr. W. Burton; vice-president, , Mr. J. M. Carlson; Dominion executive, Messrs. E. J. Righton, E. Morse, W. E. Barlow, Beaumont Smith, G. H. Saunders, E. Greenfield, and J. W. Mason. Two retiring members of the executive council, Messrs. H. W. Shortt and O. N. Gillespie, did not seek re-elec-tion. At the conference luncheon the president and council entertained a number of guests, among whom were the Hon. W. E. Parry, Minister of Internal Affair-:, Sir Bf*ijamin >'uller, and the president and members of the Film Renters' Association. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks to the executive council and to the Dominion secretary, Mr. J. Robertson, M.P. I
