MR. C. WHEELER'S PURCHASES Mr. C. Wheeler, of Adelaide, who was a buyer at this week's yearling sales, came to New Zealand for healtn reasons, and his purchases were made on behalf of other owners. Mr. Wheeler, who was a prominent trainer and owner some years ago, among his charges being the Melbourne Cup winners The Parisienne and Patrobus, has no intention of re-entering the game. The Beau Pere—Summertime colt, which he secured for 1000 guineas, was bought on behalf of Mr. P. H. Osborne, who bred and raced that great mare Valicare, and the colt by Beau Pere — Chelae was bought on behalf of Mr. J. Wren for 750 guineas.
