- ARMY AND NAVY HYGIENE ' r (From "The Post's" Representative.) LONDON, December 28. E Major E. F. W. Mackenzie, Royal Army Medical Corps, has been awarded the Parkes Memorial Prize for his investigations into the ammonia-chlor-ine process of water purification in the field, coupled with research carried out by him in connection with food supplies in India. The prize is awarded annually to the officer who is considered by the committee to have done most to promote the advancement of naval or (military hygiene by professional work of outstanding merit, and is open to medical officers of the Royal Navy, the Army, and the Indian Army, with the exception of the professors and assistant professors of the Royal Naval Medical College, Greenwich, and o£ the Royal Army Mcdical College. LofcSon, during their term of office. Major Mackenzie is the son of the late Dr. F. Wallace Mackenzie, formerly a well-known practitioner in Wellington.
