The cordial welcome given by the Tibetan Government to a recen' British mission in Lhasa illustrates the hcppy relationship existing be> tween Tibet and the British Empire An account has been published ir India of the ceremonies connectec with the visit and of the tour of Lhas; made by members of the mission. On( of the Lhasa temples has figures re presenting incarnations of Queen Vic toria, another instance of the rever ence in which her memory is held ir the East.
