CANNOT TAKE PART
(Received January 22, 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 21. The Evangical Council announces that in view of the nature of the Coronation service it is impossible for Free Churchmen to actually participate, but six representatives will be given places in the great procession. AUSTRALIAN PARTY (Received January 22, 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Minister of Defence (the Hon. Archdale Farkhill) announced that one officer and 24 ratings had been chosen as the naval section to be sent to the Coronation. Twenty-one of them had war service.
SPECIAL MEDALS DESIGNS APPROVED (British Official Wireless.) (Received January 22, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, January 21. It is announced that the Royal mint is to produce the official Coronation medals, which will show the King's effigy on one side and the Queen's on the other. In addition, there will be two classes of medals struck by the trade. The first of these will bear an officially-approved double effigy of their Majesties on one side, with municipal coats of arms or other approved designs on the other. The second class will have both sides designed by private medallists. Supplies of all three classes will, it is expected, be available by April.
