YEAR AT THE POLE
SOVIET EXPEDITION
LONDON. January 21
The Moscow correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that Soviet Arctic flyers are seriously considering landing a big scientific expedition at the North Pole and leaving it there for a year in order exhaustively to study Polar conditions. The project is declared to be feasible. It is suggested that if necessary the entire expedition could be dropped by means of parachutes, including sufficient sledges and dog teams to ensure the men reaching the nearest Soviet post a year later.
