IMPORTANT NOTICE ALL TELEPHONE USERS QUICKER DESPATCH FOR TOLL CALLS COMMENCING on TUESDAY, NEXT WEEK Telephone subscribers lodging a toll call should dial "390" as at present and simply inform 11 Central 11 of the name of the town to which the call is required. "Central" will then place the calling subscriber in direct contact with the "Tolls" operator on the route where the call is to be handled. Upon giving details of the call to this operator, the call will be established immediately if a circuit is available. This new arrangement will ensure subscribers receiving closer attention than in the past, and will enable them to obtain first-hand, accurate information regarding delays and other traffic conditions. Calls prematurely disconnected can be readily re-established because the calling subscriber, upon dialling "390," will be Immediately "routed" to the toll operator who originally handled the call.
