Caird, of Taihape, ' who leave shortly to reside at Wanga; nui, have been given-farewell parties by many organisations. Mr. Caird has recently retired from the position of postmaster at Taihape. _ Miss Jessie Home, New Plymouth, is visiting Wellington. i Miss Jessie Evatt, Island Bay, returned last night from a visit to the Pelorus Sounds. Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Muir > Hutt, have recently returned from holidays spent at Tauranga and Rotorua. Mrs. N. T. Simmons and the Misses P. and C. Simmons have returned to Patea from Paraparaumu. The Misses K. and E. Lavery, Patea, - who have been spending a holiday in Wellington, have returned hope. Misses E. and R. Peart are Wellington visitors to'Wanganui. Miss Betty Pawson is a North Island visitor to Little River, Christchurch. Mrs. P. Ballard has returned to Wellington after a holiday at Timaru. Mr. and Mrs. G. Durrani; Taoroa, Taihape, are visiting Wellington to meet Miss Margery Durrant on her return from Australia. Mrs. Dutton, Wellington, is the guest of Mrs. Gordon Rich, New Plymouth. Mrs. L. Duigan, Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs. H. G. Swan, at Wanganui. Mrs. W. Laurence, "Lansdowne," Napier, is spending a holiday with her sister, Mrs. E. Morris, Hataitai. Mrs. E. Cresswell, of Hamilton, is , paying a visit to her sisters, Mrs. Drewette and Mrs. Elliott, Aurora Terrace. Mrs. Norman Hatch, Miss Nora Hatch, and Mr. L. E. Hatch are Napier visitors to 'Wellington. Mrs. Shaw and her daughter, Wellington, are on an extended visit to Whakatane, where they are the guests of Nurse Pickett, James Street. Dr. and Mrs. L. G. Austin have returned to Wellington from a tour through Taupo, Rotorua, and Mount Maunganui. Mrs. H. W. Townsend (Christchurch), and Mrs. L. Coop (Kaituna, Banks Peninsula), are staying at the Hotel St. George. Mesdames C. D. Kennedy (Napier), H. P. Richmond (Auckland), J. Borthwick and G. C. Cameron (Masterton), Cecil Kebbell (Te Hoe), G. Haldane and Miss McLeod (Hastings) are guests at the Midland Hotel. Mesdames A. J. Rutherford and E. McKay (Alfredton), A. Little (Christchurch), W. B. Fisher (Waipukurau), G. Glenn (Wanganui), J. Harman (Wellington), L. Pettit and N. James (Masterton), Misses M. Little (Christchurch), I. Baker (Patea), and M. James (Masterton) are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mrs. E. A. Moretty (Victoria), P. Torpy (Hamilton), G. Forge (Melbourne), J. McKenzie (Dunedin), and Miss M.
