Lady Mildred Murray arrived from Ertgland by the Awatea today.

Dr. Bertram Mitford, .who has been doing post-graduate work in London, will arrive in Wellington by the Waimana with his wife this week. Mrs. Mitford, sen., of Bolton Street, arrived in Wellington recently, having travelled from England by the Narkunda. Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Menzies are spending the holidays at their seaside cottage at Paraparaumu. Mrs. W. Taylor, wife of the New Zealand Trade Commissioner, Sydney, arrived in New Zealand by the Awatea. Dr. Dorothea Norman Jones. M.8., B.Sc., daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A. Norman Jones, Lower Hutt, has been appointed house physician at the London Hospital for Women, Clapham. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Todd, Wellington, have returned from a tour embracing America, England, the Continent, returning by Australia. Dr. Elizabeth Bryson returned by the Awatea today from an overseas tour. Miss Jean Sutherland, Karori, is spending a holiday in Queen Charlotte Sound. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Evatt were among the Awatea passengers today. Miss Barbara Buchanan, Cashmere Hills, will leave tomorrow for Wellington, where she will stay with her aunt, Mrs. C. W. Stewart, Seatoun. Mr. and Mrs. Bassant and their daughter returned to New Zealand by the Awatea this morning after an absence of several months. | Miss G. Robinson, Fitzherbert Terrace, has returned from a visit to Woodville. Miss Peggy McNeill, Wellington, is spending the holidays at Mount Maunganui. Miss M. Horrobin and Miss P. Holdsworth arrived this morning by the Awatea. Miss Betty Waters, Wellington, who has been the guest of Miss Elgar Christie, Waimarama Beach, Hawke's Bay, for. the Chfistmas holidays, has returned home. Miss G. Kerry was among the passengers who returned to New Zealand by the Awatea today. Mrs. Lionel Lees, Wellington, who has been visiting, relatives in Auckland, has arrived from the north. Miss Helen Brotherton, who has spent the holidays at her home in Christchurch, returned to Wellington morning. Mrs. J. A. Grimwood is a Wellington visitor to Auckland. Mrs. T. A. Jackson, Lower Hutt, is visiting friends at Ohope, Whakatane. Miss Cora Veale and Miss F. Morey, of Auckland, are visiting Wellington and are the guests of Mr, and Mrs. R. F. Veale, of Lower Hutt. Miss M. Wright is a Wellington visitor to Hawera. Miss D. Rose, Blenheim, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. W. G. Clark, who attended the Clark-Saunders wedding in Hawera. has returned to Wellington. Mrs. J. G. Bertinshaw, Wellington, is visiting New Plymouth. Wellington visitors to Hawera for the Hollis-Kay wedding included Mrs. Gilbert, Mrs. Marsden, and Miss Telfer. Mrs. H. M. Bannister is a Wellington visitor to New Plymouth. Mrs. T. H. Sinclair and family, Opunakc*, are visiting Wellington. Mrs. W. Fettis, Khandallah, is visiting Tauranga.. Mrs. J. Plummcr, Wellington, is spending several weeks in Hawera. Miss Elsie Simmonds, Khandallah, is visiting friends at Tauranga. Miss Rachel Mee, Wellington, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Mee, Timaru. Mrs. Burgess, Wellington, is spending a three weeks' holiday at Opunake Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Izett, Miramar, are motoring to Auckland, whore Mr. Izett is later to give pianoforte recitals for the National Broadcasting Service. Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Fordham, Crieff Street, are spending the ChristmasNew Year holidays with Mr. and Mrs. L. U. Chaffey, Titahi Bay. Miss Olga Macfarlane is visiting her parents at Timaru. Miss Irene Bennett, Palmerston North, is spending the holidays in Wellington. Mrs. A. B. Clark and Miss M. Clark, Kaikoura, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Willis, Northland. Mrs. V. Garnham, Wellington, who has been visiting friends at Inglewood, has returned home. Mrs. Lan Macallan, who has been visiting relatives at New Plymouth, returned to Wellington yesterday, accompanied by Miss Catherine Fraser. Miss W. L. Whittington, Inglewood, is the guest of Mrs. J.
