The January Handicap at the Warwick Farm Racing Club's Meeting today provided a thrilling finish, Latharna, Fireman, and Loud Applause finishing almost in line in that order. The Randwick trainer Bailey Payten won three successive races, the Maiden Handicap with Valpan, in which Treasure Trove was second, the Nursery Handicap for colts and geldings with Micawber, and the Nursery Handicap for fillies with Byculla. The Warwick January Handicap, £300, 1 mile and 3 furlongs, resulted: — IP.
