SPEED LIMIT AND SAFETY
On the problem of greater road safety "A Bit Disgusted" writes suggesting that the Government fix a speed limit on roads outside town and suburban districts and insist on governors being fixed on the engines so that the vehicle could not be driven at a greater speed than the limit. Tampering with the governors would be an offence punishable by a heavy fine. The correspondent further suggests that parents should be held responsible for accidents incurred by children who hold driving licences. "Old crocks" have a right to the road if they pay their way, which, he says, is more than many "flash" cars do.
