HAPPY, Happy New Year to every child in. our Fairy Ring and a very sincere thank you for all your bright messages, cards, and calendars. They made the Ring such a Christmassy place thai it teas easy to forget thai the Weather Clerk Iwd gone off for his annual forty winks without marking his chart "Special Christmas Weather." Still, cheer up, my elves, lam sure he'll make up for it with a double share of sunshine when he wakes. * / suppose you liave all heard of the nasty little germ who has been trying to spoil Christmas for our South Island cousins. Germs and such creeping things are afraid of sunshine and fresh air so tlie best way to fight lite enemy is in the open. "Hats on" must be another rule of the Ring for a little while, and speaking of hats, how big and bright beach lulls are growing.
