SEASON'S SHIPMENTS state" OF THE MARKET Freezing works in the North Island are now busy and expect to be so from now on until the end of the season. Shipments of meat for 'the 1936-37 season, beginning October, show no outstanding variations in quantities for the current season when compared with the period October 1 to December 15. Shipments of chilled beef show c,n increase this season, but chilled arid frozen taken together are but 600 quarters more, the increase being in chilled. Lamb also shows an increase in shipments for this season by und:r 35,000. Pork is also more; mutton is less. Japan is a larger importer of boned beef than it was last year. Shipments are mainly to the United Kingdom, with increases to Manchester direct on l&st season's returns. The Meat Board gives the following comparative shipments for the periods October 1 to December 15 for this season and last.
