CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES January is going to be an and busy month with croquet players in both the North and South Islands, the North Island, South Island, and New Zealand championships beingset down to take place in that order. The North Island championships, which iwere held at Palmerston Northi a •yean ago, will commence at Lower Huts_onj Wednesday, the South Island chahw trionships commence at Chnstchurch on January 14, and the New Zealand; championships will follow at Christ; church on January 19. Prominent players are taking part in each 61 these events, and a high standard* ol play is expected.
