MODERATE SCORE

WELLINGTON ALL OUT WICKET FAST AND TRUE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Wellington continued their first innings with four wickets down for 91 runs against Canterbury this morning in perfect conditions. The wicket appeared to be very fast and true. McLeod (28) and Lamason (1), the not out batsmen, made heavy weather of the Canterbury attack, adding only 10 runs in 30 minutes. McLeod was caught in the slips without adding to his scftre. 98—5—28. Gallichan joined Lamason, who reached double figures with confident cover driving. The century appeared after three hours of play. Gallichan rattled up a quick 21 before being brilliantly stumped by Jackman. 136-6—21. Parsloe was next in and soon lost Lamason, Cromb sending an unexpectedly swift ball to crash the wickets. Tricklebank made a single and was then caught brilliantly at first slip by Roberts off Graham. Parsloe opened out but was caught by Cromb at deep mid-off. The final incidents were a glorious 6 by Griffiths off Cromb and a great running catch by Bellamy to dismiss Griffiths with the next ball.

Hadlee and Page opened for Canterbury and played out two overs safely before lunch. Details:— •_ WELLINGTON. First Innings.
