The British Ambassador, Sir Erie Drummond, had a further interview with Count Ciano, Foreign Minister, ia Rome in regard to the proposed exchange of assurances on the Mediterranean. It is understood that the conversation was of a satisfactory character and that the negotiations are on the point of completion. A conversation which the British Ambassador in Berlin had with Baron, von Neurath is understood to have dealt mainly with the Spanish situation. There is reason to expect that the German reply to the recent British and French demarche oh the subject of foreign nationals enlisting for the Spanish civil war will be given in tha next, few days.
