LONDON, December 19.
The "Daily Herald" says that after many discussions a joint document has been officially signed by the leaders of the Communist Party, the Independent Labour Parly, and the Socialist League, namely, Messrs. H. Pollitt, 'J. Maxton, and Sir Stafford Cripps, creating a United Left Front for the purpose of opposing the official Labour Party and the Government and resisting, Fascism.
Other objects, according to the "News Chronicle" include unrelenting opposition to the new unemployment regulations and the means test and the speedy establishment of a Socialist State. ' .
All three bodies, it.is stated, maintain their existing independent identity, but it remains tp be seen whether the new alignment will be endorsed by the individual membership of the three bodies. If it is, the "News Cchronicle" expresses the opinion that it may have an important effect on the future of British politics.
The "Daily Herald" predicts that the first result will almost certainly be a serious split in the Socialist League, which contains many loyal members of the Labour' Party.
