PIANOFORTE RECITAL
An enjoyable evening, was spent recently when the pupils •• of Dorothy Downing, A.T.C.L., entertained their parents and friends at' their annual "break-up." During the interval <* song in character, "The Shepherdess. was given by Miss Ngaire Lowe, ana the certificates ior the various examinations of the Royal School of Music and Trinity College were presented. Those taking part in the programme were -—Solos, Elaine and Maria Garland, Jocelyn Muir, ..Elizabeth Pearce* Mary, Barbara, and Annie-MacKenzie, Ngaire Jensen, Agnes Hawick, Lexie Barton, Patricia Edmonds, Patricia and June Cole, . Joyce Trischler, Hilary Smith, Ngaire Lowe, and Bertie Scott; duets, Joyce ;Trischler, Agnes Hawick,. Mary and Barbara MacKenzie; and a trio by Elizabeth. Pearce, Jocelyn Muir, and Mary MacKenzie. Th? National Anthem, .which brought a successful evening to a close, was played'as a trio by Agnes Hawick, Joyce Trischler, and Bertie Scott., ;;
