PLEASANT GATHERING
' Mi', and Mrs. Wallis Jackson's home at Hataitai was recently the scene of a- very happy gathering in honour of their- daughter, Miss Olga Jackson. The drawing-room was decorated with orange and black streamers to tone with- the colour scheme of the room. The table decorations were of Iceland poppies, and the large' sunroom was also decorated with bright streamers and gold balloons.
There were about, seventy young guests, and dancing and community singing were enjoyed by all. At supper time speeches were made by Captain C. Bullock, Mr. A. E.West, Mr. George Cooper, and Mr. Wallis Jackson. ■ • • ■ •
Mrs. J: P. Woodward sang delightfully, and some exhibition tap dancing was given by Misses B, Griffin and Lesley Wallis Jackson. ■ Tap dancing by Mr. C. Stewart.was also enjoyed.
The guests took the opportunity of wishing "bon voyage" to Miss Wallis Jackson, who will leave for Sydney by the Awatea early in January.
