BUTTERBOX PRICES
TIMBER WORKERS' VIEW
(Special to the "Evening Post.")
PALMERSTON N., This Day. The following resolution was' passed at a meeting of Palmerston North members of the Timber Workers' Union:—
"That this union protests against the various statements that have been made by dairy companies* in the Manawatu and elsewhere about the high price of butter boxes made in New Zealand and the Appeal to ttie'XJovernment to allow the importation of foreign boxes to the detriment of the New Zealand worker. The one-sided presentation of facts is intended to discredit the present Government both as regards the guaranteed price and its industrial- policy. By reason of the latter policy large numbers of men are finding employmenfat wages which are in keeping with the better deal the farmer has been getting in respect of a higher price for his produce, the benefits of a high exchange, and the benefits of .readjusted mortgages." . ■■'..■
