AERIAL TOUR OF N.Z.
MISS BATTEN'S PROJECT
With no definite plans for the future, except the possibility of making ' an. aerial tour of the Dominion this summer, Miss Jean Batten landed in New Zealand from Sydney again today, having crossed the Tasman not by air but more comfortably, as she herself admitted, on the Awatea. She 'was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. C. Batten, whom she went to Australia to meet, Mrs. Batten having come out from England to that country on tha Esperance Bay. Miss Batten, has been absent from New Zealand for only nine days.
She saw the arrival of the Adelaide Centenary air race «ompetitors in. Sydney, Miss Batten told a "Post" reporter, but apart from that her visit was uneventful.
Miss Batten and her mother are leaving for Auckland tomorrow night. They will be joined there by Mr. Batten, and they will, spend Christmas at Rotorua, where the Maoris have arranged to hold a reception in honour of the aviatrix.
H. Percy, a boilermaker, who fell from an 18ft ladder at the Evans Bay power-house this morning, suffered from fractured ribs and an injury to the right foot, and was taken to hospital by-the Free Ambulance,-
