CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
Norman. Sutherland; a trimmer, aged 35, formerly of the steamer Waiotapu, charged with knowingly instigating the escape of a patient from the Templeton Farm School mental institution on August 26, 1936, appeared in the Magistrate's Court this morning. He was remanded until. December 28. Bail of £300, with a similar surety, was allowed, and the accused is to report daily to the police.
Sub-inspector Mac Lean asked' that bail should be substantial. "It has taken us many months to find' this man," he said. "It was only by chance that we found him on board, a ship at Lyttelton." :
Mr. C. S. Loughlin, New Zealand manager for Aspro, Limited, leaves by the Awatea today-en route to Melbourne, where he will join his wife and family.
