MINING DISPUTE
KING'S BIRTHDAY PAYMENT

GREYMOUTH, This Day.
The Liverpool State mine is idle today as a result of a dispute regarding payment for the King's Birthday. The dispute also affects the James State mine. , It is understood that the men's demand for payment has been refused by the Minister of Mines. The men went to the Liverpool mine this morning, but returned home. The shiftmen at the James mine are working today, but will come out tonight.
