NAVY VETERAN DEAD

DUNEDIN, This Day
Mr. George Taylor, a Navy veteran who lived under six sovereigns, died yesterday, aged 102. He joined the Navy at the age of 14, and served for eight years in Chinese waters. He came to New Zealand in 1879 and had lived at Gore for the past 40 years.
