Pressure is fairly uniform over New Zealand but a slight anticyclone is centred to the north while pressure is relatively low.over the south Tasman Sea and near Chatham Island. Southerly winds have prevailed and yesterday were strong on parts of the east coast but otherwise moderate. By this morning there had been a general decrease in strength and winds are light to moderate and variable with southerlies predominating. Yesterday was cloudy with some showers In eastern districts and elsewhere mainly fair. Conditions have continued to improve and this morning it is fair to fine generally.
