NARROW ESCAPE
BOY DRAGGED BY BUS
. A boy aged about five >years had a narrow escape from serious injury or death.when.he was dragged some dis.tance.\by a bus in Petone yesterday 'afternoon. When the bus pulled up ;in Jackson Street, opposite, the Bank (bf New, Zealand, the boy caught hold jof the luggage carrier? and when .the vehicle started' again he,cpuld not let §o without falling heavily. As.the us gathered speed his feet left the ground, but he maintained" his grip. Fortunately his plight was noticed by a lorry-driver, who overtook the. bus and motioned to the driver toj, stop, which lie did. The boy was carried a fair distance, but did not appear to be much the worse for his experience.
