SCENE AT GIBRALTAR
SENTENCE ON MONARCHIST
(Received December 2, 10 a.m.) GIBRALTAR, December 1. An ugly scene occurred at the courthouse when three British subjects were sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour for assaulting a Spanish Monarchist named Crooke. A crowd of a hundred rushed I into the court, protesting against the
sentence, and extra police had to be hurried up to protect the Magistrates. Three hundred people are at present demonstrating outside the court.
