"IMPROVING SLOWLY" Special forecast for Wellington:— Southerly winds, strong to gale force. Weather cold, changeable, and squally, with further rain at times, but improving slowly. The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole, issued at noon today, is for strong south-westerly to southerly winds, which in many places will still I be reaching gale force. Although mainly fair on the west coast of the South Island, the weather elsewhere will be cold, changeable, and squally. Showers are probable in most parts of the country, with some further heavy falls of rain between Banks Peninsula and East Cape. Conditions, however, will gradually improve.
