WITNESS IN MURDER TRIAL
MELBOURNE, November 29. James Dugan, aged 18, one of- the Crown witnesses in proceedings last week in a case in which three men were charged with the murder of James Edward Scriven, a messenger of 'the Titles Office, on January 31, walked into the casualty department of a hospital late on Saturday night_ with a superficial bullet wound in his thigh. Dugan said he had been wounded accidentally, and declined to state where the mishap occurred. After receding treatment he left the hospital in company with detectives. Dugan's evidence at the trial was that he repaired the handle of a revolver which was found after Scriven was shot. ______________
