PETONE CLUB

The Petone Rifle Club fired the first competition of the service shooting at Trentham on Saturday, the1 results counting for the Scott Memorial Cup and also for qualification for marksmanship. The shoots were:—A, five i shots application at 200 yards, possible ! 25;'8, five shots snap at 200 yards, each shot to. be fired within three seconds exposure of the round disc, possible 15; C, ten shots rapid, fired within 45 seconds at 200 yards, possible 50; and D, five shots application at 300 yards, possible 25; total possible, 115. The .■.; competition was conducted under military service conditions, with ordinary open sights and no slings. Owing to the wet conditions in Wellington and the lower part of the Hutt Valley there was rather a poor attendance.
