NEW ZEALAND FLOCKS

YESTERDAY'S TRIALS

TWO BOATS OUTSTANDING

Although actual sailing conditions were excellent for the Sanders, MofTatt, and Cornwell Cup trials held yestor-, day, a thick drizzling rain and mist made things unpleasant for spectators. Nevertheless, a large number watched the races from cars at Point Jerningham. The races, were postponed on Saturday, and yesterday two trials in each class were held to select Wel- | lington's representative centre-board 'yachts for the.Sanders Cup (X class), I and Moffatt Cup (I class) contests. The 'X class boats also compete for the Campbell Cup.' Trials were also'held in Evans Bay to" select Wellington's Comwell Cup crew, but only two boats were available, the Damfino 3 and. Maputu. Three crews took part, but the Damfino won with whichever crew sailed her. Further trials will probably be held. In the following summary of points scored in the trials P.N. indicates Port Nicholson Club, E.B. Evans Bay, W. Worser Bay, H. Heretaunga, PI. Plimmerton,- and P. Paremata:—
