FOUNDERING OF SCOW
A NAUTICAL INQUIRY

A nautical inquiry regarding the foundering of the auxiliary scow Tamahae in the Hauraki Gulf on September 25 will be opened tomorrow before Mr. "Wyvern Wilson, S.M. The Tamahae is a wooden vessel of 20 tons and when proceeding from Mangawai to Auckland with a cargo of sand she sprang a leak and suddenly foundered in 13 fathoms of water when she was about three "miles south of Whangapararoa. After lying at the bottom of the gulf for over five weeks she was lifted to the surface and then brought to Auckland for repairs.
