ART UNION RESULTS

WIN FOR AUCKLAND

FEW LOCAL PRIZES

Spectators who gathered to witness the drawing of the "Win-a-Lot" Art Union at the Masonic Hall last night had not long to wait to hear of the destination of the big prize of £2000, for the winning number was the second one to be announced. Generally speaking, Wellington was not lucky in the draw, although- the fifth prize of £75 went to "The Cat," Wellington, the ticket number being 17239. Second prize of £500 went to "Win a Lot," Taranaki, third prize of £200 to Emily Robinson, a Morrinsville butt, and fourth prize of £100 to "Those Bally Hens," an Otago butt. The second prize was also announced early in the evening, for it was the fifth number called. The draw was conducted under the supervision of the Department of Internal Affairs and the police, Mr. J. H. Hutchen representing the Department, while Sergeant J. Coutts represented the police force. The following were the prizes:— First Prize of £2000. 161849 "What I Want," Auckland.
