The reserves committee recommended the Petone Borough Council last evening to adopt the principle of erecting a grandstand and improving the layout of the Petone Recreation Ground. The committee has instructed the assistant director of reserves to bring down a scheme. Councillor E. T. E. He favoured going ahead with the scheme for improving the baths.

The Mayor (Mr. A. Scholefield) remarked that the Loans Board would insist on the greens^eing improved out of revenue.

Councillor A. M. Macfarlane protested against the maintenance of the surface of the greens being neglected in the past.
