LEAGUE OF MOTHERS
SOCIAL AT SEATOUN
There was a large attendance of members and friends at the final meeting fOr the year of the Seatoun branch of-the League of Mothers. Mrs. OUiver presided. The Kiosk was beautifully decorated by Mrs. Higgs with roses and Iceland "poppies.
■';. ,The meeting took the form of : a social. afternoon, including a competition and a most enjoyable programme. The competition, "Books' and Their I Authors," was a humorous .one, and 'evoked much merriment. It-was won iby'Mrs.'iNichol. Songs by Mrs. Hayderi arid recitations by Miss ;Luxford were much enjoyed. A humorous little play by members of the ; league,. entitled "The Final Rehearsal,""was very entertaining. Those taking part were Mesdames' Thome, Higgs, Lancaster, Allan, and Miss Luxford. The choir, which has shown great, progress during the year, rendered two very fine items. Gifts knitted by members "for St. Helens Hospital were displayed and much admired, and afternoon tea was served by some of the members.
