BASIC WAGE RATES
A NAPIER RESOLUTION

NAPIER, This Day.
A meeting of the Napier branch of the General Labourers' Union passed a resolution expressing the opinion that the workers would never receive justice from the present personnel of the Arbitration Court and calling on the Government to give effect to the spirit of recent legislation. It.'.was', con-' tended that the basic wages, £3 16s and £1 16s, were too low, and it Was suggested that Mr. A. L. Monteith (workers' nominee on the Court) be replaced.
