LEAGUE V, KILBIRNIE

Teams; representing the Mercantile Cricket League and the Kilbirnie Cricket Club played a match at Kilbirnie yesterday, the play generally being interesting and enjoyable both for participants and onlookers. Included in the Kilbirnie team were the Kilbirnie coach, G. A. Rotherham. and E W. Tindill, of Midland, and J. Ell, of Wellington. The league team, with Jupp, Brooks, Cullen, and others scoring well, put on 247 runs, and Kilbirnie, though given a good start by Bain and Rice, replied with only 142. Allen bowled with considerable success for Kilbirnie, taking five wickets, and''Jennings did likewise at smaller cost for the league. Details: — I MERCANTILE LEAGUE. First-Innings. W.
