The chief difficulty,, of course, is in regard to grounds, but, it is; hoped that this will be overcome this year. The report refers to the v.cqmpetitions and the special matches which, took place last season.. -There;iwero five teams in the senior ''■ competition (won by Technical—Old . Girls) and eight in the junior (won by Trinity).. Wellington's .representatives, Nelson and won ; the-- New Zealand Shield against Auckland, at; Auckland. Other: special matches were also greatly enjoyed. ' ' . ~'' ■ It being the aim of the- association to Foster and encourage women's cricket in Wellington,,the executive) decided to run an art'union as a. means of obtaining funds for the!purpo.se-:o£ securing better wickets. Arrangements are .well in hand (the report- states), and with wholehearted support ;th« necessary Junds should be raised, as t it is true that the standard 'of women's cricket cannot improve whilst players have to contend with such unsatisfactory conditions.'
