The Wellington Trotting Club, in setting the limit'.of-the New Zealand Cup Trial at 2min 45sec, is assured of a large field, as no fewer than 45 horses in commission are eligible for this class of race. . :..
The 2min 45sec group are Llewellyn's Pride, Francis Lincoln, Willow Wave, Graham Direct, Gamble, Recess, Prairie King, George Rey, Wt\v Buoy, Wrecker, Grand Mogul, and Gunfire. On 2min 44sec are King's Warrior, Bingen Palm, Raydus, Rey Spec, Supertax, Grace McElwyn, Agile, Avernus, Vesuvius, Blue Mountain, Pegaway, Sir Guy, Guy Junior, and Reporter. The 2min 43sec division comprises Worthy Light, Smooger, Gold Tinge, Sunny Morn, Cloudy Range, Great. Logan, Kewpie's Triumph, Sure, De Soto, Wild Guy, Rocks Ahead, and Rollo, and 12 yards further back are Tempest, Kingcraft, and Glenrossie. Impromptu, whose retirement was announced last week, is on 2min 41sec, Red Shadow is on 2min 39sec, Roi lOr on 2min 37sec, and Harold Logan and Indianapolis on 2min 36sec.
