Foreign exchange dealings opened with Swiss francs quoted at 21.32 \ to £1, compared with Friday's rate of 15.45, and Dutch guilders at 9.07 to £1, compared with 7.44 J. The Java exchange, which was 7.45J "guilders to £1 on Friday, was not quoted.
