FINAL COMPETITIONS

Post-section play in the indoor bowt* ing championship and house cup competitions is producing exceptionally keen games at the Winter Show rink, where the season -is to close on Saturday. The finals of both competitions are expected to-be played, tomorrow night.

The first round of post-section play; for the house cup resulted iis-follows:— "Evening Post." No. 1, Clark, Hornblow, Turner, Moffitt (s), 19; Hannah, and Co., Billman, Denby, Chisholm, Marshall (s), 17. "Evening.Post," No. 2, Reid, Magee, Mellor, Nickless (s), 19; Singer Sewing Machine, Fishenden, Berry, Etheridge, Woolley (s), 17. Occidental, Falconer, Murphy, Allen, Nicholls (s), 24; D. Lang, and Co., Walden, Ridley, Nelson, Lang (s), 14, The first two matches were decided by the last bowl on the last . head. Briscoe, E. W. Mills, and Co. had a bye. Owing to his having undergone an operation in hospital, K. Swiney (skip of last year's winning rink) has been unable to take part \in recent games in the tournament. Semi-final: "Evening Post," No. 2, 20; "Evening Post," No. 1, 19. The No. 1 rink was lying the four needed on the last head for a win, when the No. -2 skip saved two with his last bowl and won the match.

Johnson, J. Johnson (s), 20. In this game the scores were level when the twentieth head had been decided. Semi-final:, Wrigley, Ridley, McWhannell, Wellings (s), 20; Bedell (s), 19. Bedell was up on the last head when a drive by Wellings altered the situation. Each side had a toucher in the ditch, with the jack also!there, shot going to Wellings.
