AIRMAN'S FUNERAL

The funeral of Captain T. Campbell Black, who was killed in an aerodrome accident at Liverpool on Saturday, took place in London today. It was attended by many distinguished representatives of civil aviation and of the theatrical profession, to which his widow, the actress Florence Desmond, belongs. They included Sir F. Shelmerdine, Director-General of Civil Aviation, and Mr. C. W. A. Scott, who, with the deceased airman, won the London to Melbourne Air Kace.

Mrs. Amy Mollison asked to be permitted to fly the "Miss Liverpool I" in the Portsmouth-Johannesburg air race next Tuseday, The machine is the one which the late Captain Black was piloting when he was killed, and was to have been flown by him in the race. A decision was deferred until the relatives of Captain Black had been consulted as to whether they would desire the machine to compete, and it was subsequently announced that the "Miss Liverpool I" would not compete in the race.
