OTAKI NEWS
(Special to the "Evening Post.") OTAKI, This Day. Mr. and Mrs. Alan Adsett, who have been residents of Otaki for many years, have left to take up residence in Wellington. Prior to their departure Mr. Adsett was presented with a fountain pen, the gift of the Horowhenua Hockey Association. Mr. Adsett was for some years on the management committee and was also a very capable referee. Footpath improvement is being carried out in the, main streets of Otaki, and several lengths of kerbing and channelling have greatly improved the appearance, of the town. A tennis court is being laid down at the Otaki Sanatorium, and should be a great acquisition to the staff and patients. The Health Camp has reopened, and over 100 children are on the roll.
Good work is being done in connec-tion-with the motor camp at Tasman Beach, and when this is finished the camp should be very attractive to visitors.
The new pastor at Staithies, North Yorkshire, Congregational Church, has formed a harmonica band to brighten the services. It consists of mouth organs, a piano, xylophone, mandolin, and piano-accordion.
