POTATOES FOR SOUTH AMERICA.
The southern potato market is likely to harden in price on account of export to South America. Still another ship-! ment of potatoes will be leaving for that country this week. This consignment, the fifth to leave this season, will be carried on the Port Fairy from Lyttelton. It is expected that the vessel will take approximately one thousand tons. "The new market has proved a godsend locally," said Mr. R. McGillivray, Fields Superintendent of the Department of-Agriculture in.Christchurch.
